Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division is seeking an Industrial Services Technician to safely complete field labor duties across our core service lines. Responsibilities include site preparation, hazard identification, and PPE management on demanding environments.

Candidate must be willing to work outdoors year-round, adhere to safety standards, and perform varied physical tasks. Compensation starts at $20+ per hour, with growth based on experience and training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
• This position requires the ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Pre-employment drug and criminal background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare sites including power washing/hydro blasting, digging, sweeping, entering confined spaces, and removing hazardous waste after training.
• Identify hazards for safety of personnel and equipment.
• Wear, use, and maintain PPE on HAZWOPER sites; uniforms and PPE provided.
• Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Projects vary; physical demands and environmental conditions can be extreme.
• May work in hot/cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by site superintendent or management.
• Compensation starting at $20+ based on experience.

Responsible for safely and efficiently completing tasks and duties associated with industrial field labor. You must be able to work in compliance in the delivery of GFL's four (4) core service lines (Emergency Response, Industrial and Marine Services, Facility Decontamination, and Site Remediation).

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare sites and may include power washing/hydro blasting, digging, sweeping, entering confined spaces, and remove any hazardous waste materials after appropriate training.
• Identify any hazards as observed for safety of personnel and equipment.
• Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) on HAZWOPER sites. Uniforms and all PPE provided.
• Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment
• Due to the diversity of both scheduled and non-scheduled projects, physical demands, and environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project.
• May work in environments that are extreme in nature like environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours etc.
• May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hand tools, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by site superintendent, or management.
• Compensation starting at $20+ based on experience.
