Wind Turbine Technician III

Full-time

Moriarty, NM (SunZia site)

This position is based at an upcoming wind project in Moriarty, NM. Employees will start with an accelerated on-the-job training program, traveling to existing wind farms across the U.S., before beginning full-time work in Moriarty in June 2025.

WHO WE ARE

We seek dedicated technicians passionate about renewable wind energy. As a Vestas technician, you’ll leverage your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills, prioritizing safety and teamwork.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TECHNICIAN

This advanced-level role requires proficiency in your skills, equipment, and self-direction to perform maintenance on wind turbines with minimal supervision. You’ll modify procedures, develop action plans, and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

You may work 250 feet above ground, in tight spaces, or in various weather conditions, involving climbing, carrying tools, and moving parts.

Teamwork, professionalism, safety, and attention to detail are core to our reputation and service quality. We also value suggestions to improve safety and work quality.

MORE ABOUT YOU

  • You can participate in a travel-intensive training program from your start date to June 2025, which may include overtime and variable schedules. Candidates unable to commit to full-time travel should consider future openings.
  • You have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • You hold a valid Driver’s License and can obtain a passport.
  • You can climb stairs and ladders carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • You have experience with complex power tools, hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, diagnostic tools, etc.
  • You demonstrate advanced safety practices, including risk mitigation and energy isolation.
  • You possess basic computer skills, internet navigation, and data interpretation.
  • You communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • You can read and interpret drawings and schematics to develop procedures and validate work.
