Sunstate Equipment Co. Buckeye, AZ is hiring a Technician III to perform major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems across construction equipment and trucks.

The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience, with familiarity in Tier 4 aftertreatment and the use of diagnostic software; tools are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental background.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel and gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred.
• Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform repairs.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to manufacturer specs.
• Strong schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods understanding.
• Diesel laptop experience is required.
• Excellent organization and time management; handle multiple priorities.
• Safety oriented, adhering to Sunstate safety standards during repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains including transmissions on equipment and trucks.
• Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Perform novice welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service including checking fluids, changing fluids, and lubricating.
• Maintain accurate records on maintenance and repairs, including warranty information.

Pay Range

Starting $29 - $40+/HR Dependent upon Experience + Quarterly Branch Performance Bonus Incentive, Employee Perks, Training, Development and Opportunities for Growth

Position Requirements

• Successfully manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
• Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW)
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating
• Prepare/maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records
