Job summary

Norsk Hydro in The Dalles, OR is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold continuous production through electrical and mechanical upkeep. You will perform preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment modifications, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold an Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician license, have 2 years of manufacturing experience, and can obtain the license within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon Electrical License (Limited Maintenance Electrician) required.
• 2 years of manufacturing experience required.
• Must be able to obtain Oregon electrical license within 6 months.
• Preferred: Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrician or General Journeyman Electrician.
• PLC and VFD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical maintenance tasks to keep production uptime.
• Conduct monitoring and preventative maintenance (PM/PDM) procedures.
• Use CMMS to document repairs and time.
• Install new equipment and modify existing machinery.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on production equipment.
• Carry out PMs on electrical systems to prevent issues.
• Utilize Temperature Controllers, PLCs, HMIs, and Frequency Drives for optimal performance.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems to ensure efficiency.
• Adhere to state and federal safety regulations.

What you will be doing

• Execute mechanical maintenance tasks promptly to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
• Conduct monitoring and preventative maintenance (PM/PDM) procedures to uphold equipment functionality.
• Utilize CMMS system adeptly for comprehensive documentation of repairs and associated time.
• Install new equipment and execute modifications on existing machinery proficiently.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair duties on production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs) on electrical systems to preempt potential issues.
• Demonstrate expertise in utilizing Temperature Controllers, PLC’s, HMI’s, and Frequency Drives for optimal equipment performance.
• Take responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Adhere to pertinent state and federal regulations, codes, and ordinances, prioritizing safety protocols and regulations

What will make you successful?

Required:

• Current Oregon Electrical License (Limited Maintenance Electrician).
• 2 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to obtain Oregon electrical license within 6 months.

Preferred:

• Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrician orGeneral Journeyman Electrician (preferred).
• PLC experience (preferred).
• VFD experience (preferred).
• Mechanical experience (preferred)
