Gregory Poole in Mebane, North Carolina, seeks a skilled equipment mechanic to perform moderate repairs and assembly on construction equipment, using diagnostic tools and CAT manuals to troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
You will use lifts, hoists, power tools, and test equipment, complete repair work orders, and ensure safety procedures are followed daily; a high school diploma or GED and at least three years' experience with CAT literature systems are required.
The primary function of this position is to perform moderate mechanical repairs and assembly on construction equipment by troubleshooting and using various diagnostic equipment.
Must have a high school education or GED
Requires three years’ direct work experience with a working knowledge of CAT literature systems and be proficient in at least one mechanical system (i.e. hydraulics, transmissions, electrical, etc.).
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift and position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 112 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders; Must have cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. Should have exposure to P.C. base equipment and parts information;
