Job summary

Flagstone Foods in El Paso, TX is seeking a Full Time Craft Worker responsible for the safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs, troubleshooting of packaging machinery, pneumatic systems, motor controls, and miscellaneous industrial electrical wiring to ensure efficient production.

The role will also involve performing preventative maintenance, designing/fabricating replacement parts, and ensuring compliance with GMP and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year degree in electronic/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years in maintenance mechanics roles or 5 years of plant maintenance mechanic experience; preferably in a food processing facility.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of general maintenance activities and procedures (LOTO, hydraulics and pneumatics).
• Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with all plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems and pneumatic systems).
• Troubleshoot/repair electrical problems with plant and packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Design/fabricate replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts).
• Report food safety and quality problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary
