Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Santa Fe Springs, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a 24/7 food/packaging facility. The role involves PMs and repairs on production equipment, testing operation after maintenance, and handling pneumatics, electrical controls, and welding on site.

Candidates should have 3+ years in a fast-paced plant, strong motor controls and PLC skills, and be able to work various shifts. Excellent benefits and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience in a fast paced food or manufacturing plant.
  • 2 years or more Technical School education preferred.
  • Strong motor controls and PLC skills.
  • Ability to train and work on various shifts.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical & electro-mechanical systems and practical knowledge of plant electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of automated conveyor systems.
  • Ability to analyze electro-mechanical devices, trouble shoot failures and implement repairs.

Responsibilities

  • PM's and repairs on food grade production equipment, heating and cooling systems, ingredient handling systems, and plumbing systems; also office and plant facilities.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair. Record preventative maintenance tasks and work orders in timely manner.
  • Able to troubleshoot various areas in the plant, including Frozen Department, Dry Mix Department, Tower, Basement, Compressor Room, and Boiler Room through regular inspection and test procedures.
  • Maintains safe and efficient use of pneumatics, air compressors, air dryer operation, small tools, grinders, and welding equipment in performance of duties.
  • Complete work orders and responds to maintenance calls on the Production Floor in timely manner.
  • Help with proper inventory of spare parts and reports usage; suggests re-orders to Manager.
  • Sanitary welding on equipment and food processing piping.
  • Install/maintain electrical equipment/controls, circuits, and PLC
  • Troubleshooting identifying worn parts & rebuilding machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves, valve actuators and other equipment.
  • Start up and operate production machinery and equipment. Respond in a timely manner to calls at the production lines and facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
  • Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support/Comply with GMP's, participate in TPM initiatives and follow all company policies and procedures.

$43/hr. 2nd and 3rd shift openings.
MUST be open to working any shift (This isn't a rotating shift)
Seeking well rounded maintenance technicians experienced in

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical

Duties
