Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience related to gasoline, diesel, natural gas, or electrical equipment.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Acceptable driving record.

Job description

Job Summary:

The primary role of Technician II is to use their strong background of repair experience to diagnose and make repairs on equipment related to engine, transmission, differentials, electrical heating/cooling, braking, fuel systems, and hydraulics.

Store Hours: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshooting and Repair
    1. Diagnose and repair most transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air system related issues. May require assistance from Tech III.
    2. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
    3. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, exhaust, and emissions.
    4. Utilize computer systems to properly troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  2. Preventive Maintenance
    1. Perform routine preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains in rental ready condition.
      1. Daily inspection, greasing, checking fluid levels, etc.
  3. Safety Compliance
    1. Follow company safety and workplace policies and procedures.
    2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  4. Documentation
  1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed.
  2. Completion of work orders, inventory counts, etc.
  1. Supplemental
    1. Participates in training programs for the development of skills and knowledge
    2. Work effectively with all levels of the company -- Parts, Service, Sales, Rental
    3. Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements, including productivity, quality, and safety standards
    4. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School

Acceptable Driving Record

2+ Years of Experience related to gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and/or electrical equipment or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge & abilities.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively with a team

Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently

Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used for diagnostic purposes

Ability to work in all forms of weather conditions.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires but is not limited to lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, listening and speaking with internal and external clients.
