Job description

Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) announces an opportunity to work in Fiscal Services as a Technician II.

Under the direction of the Director of Fiscal Services, the Fiscal Services Technician II is responsible for aspects of finance from accounts payable to student accounts receivable and from payroll to the creation of financial documents. This position perform a variety of relatively complex technical functions which may include items such as accounts payable and receivable, student receivables, assisting with portions of payroll data entry, employee absence tracking, and assisting the director and accountant with pulling reports for monthly reports.

Administrative Services provides the campus with essential services to ensure the ongoing operations of the college and serves as the liaison to classified staff. Each of the departments within the Administrative Services provides critical support to ensure continued safe and sound operations of the college. Fiscal Services is part of administrative services and manages budget development and monitoring, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and auditing.

Application Process

After review, suitable applicants will be invited by phone or email on or around Wednesday, April 22, 2026 to participate in a skills assessment. Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for May 8, 2026. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview. LTCC reserves the right to return to the applicant pool at any point during the recruitment process.

Compensation

Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $47,531 to $52,493 annually, dependent on education and experience. There is potential to reach $60,879 annually, through step advancement plus longevity when appropriate. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.

Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. Several plan options maintain a zero monthly premium cost from the employee and include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan that, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 27% of an eligible employee’s salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees.

Work-Life Balance: This position is 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, generally within the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. This position is eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt).

LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year.

Definition

Under the direction of an assigned Director, perform a variety of relatively complex technical functions in support of the designated department, assist students, staff, and the public by providing information and appropriate materials.

Distinguishing Characteristics

A Technician is trained or skilled in the technical aspect of a subject. This is the second-level class in the Technician series. Work is performed under general supervision of a director within a department. Position performs the full range of duties under general supervision and is assigned more complex assignments than associated with a Technician I. Position exercises judgment and initiative within general supervision in performing the full range of duties assigned. Impact on students, financial, physical, or personnel resources is department wide.

Representative Duties

Perform technical duties and processes to support the ongoing functionalities and processes of designated Department; determine and verify documents; provide upper-level information, assistance, and answer questions pertaining to complex procedures within the Department.

Provide technical and detailed guidance and information to students, faculty, administrators, and staff on assigned procedures; review and determine status of procedures and/or forms; refer problems to supervisor for assistance and resolution; notifies students of need for additional information or documentation.

Gather information in regard to the analysis of various reports; perform skilled calculations, maintain records and prepare reports within scheduled timelines; disburses information and reports as assigned.

Operate computer for record maintenance; verify information; enter, update and maintain changes, and operate other office equipment as required. Type a variety of correspondence and statistical reports; create and maintain files; answers telephones and questions and schedules appointments; operate computer for design and layout of promotional publications, database development and maintenance, charts and spreadsheets, etc.

Keep informed of present and pending laws, rules, regulations, and interpretations pertaining to assigned programs in order to apply them to the appropriate situations. Research innovative and evolving technologies, concepts, and trends; project and anticipate viability for use by the assigned Department.

Serve on a variety of District committees as requested. Participate in district all staff events including but not limited to all campus team building day, convocation, state of the college address, senior day, and graduation.

Fiscal Services Option Class

Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to: associate degree in a related field plus one year of related experience.
