Instrata Technologies, LLC. is seeking an experienced cabling installer to lay out, install, terminate, test, label, and document low‑voltage and fiber cabling in commercial spaces in Spartanburg, SC.

The role requires 3–5 years of telecom cabling experience and a strong ability to follow ANSI/TIA/EIA and NEC standards. You will install cable pathways (trays, racks, J-hooks), terminate and test cables, and document work while building out telecom rooms and ensuring proper labeling and safety

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in cabling & telecom systems installation (CCTV, access control, wireless).
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & NEC.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:
Installs various cable that includes but is not limited to twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded cable, solid conductor low voltage cable, CAT-6, CAT-5, single mode fiber optical cable & multi-mode fiber optical cable. Cable installation includes placement, termination, testing, labeling & documentation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings).
  • Install, terminate, test, label & document horizontal, backbone & other cables.
  • Dress & route cable into telecom closets, modular furniture & other work area outlets.
  • Build out telecom & equipment rooms.
  • Fire-stop various types of cable penetrations.
  • Test, troubleshoot, & document test results for cabling.
  • Possess working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & National Electric Code.
  • Understands, adheres to, & promotes Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
  • Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to assigned contacts.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables (to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables).
  • Ability to follow written & verbal instructions.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to use small hand tools and power tools.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in the installation of cabling & electronic devices associated with Telecom Systems, TCP/IP Networks, CCTV Security, Access control & Wireless Solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & National Electric Code.

Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 100 pounds).
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds with and without loads.
  • Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts & rooftops, utilizing proper fall protection.
