Job summary

FANUC America Corporation is seeking a Technician II for Manufacturing Automation Solutions in Rochester Hills, MI. The role focuses on applying electrical, pneumatic, and computer skills to deliver orders that meet customer expectations while upholding FAC quality standards.

You will assemble, modify, and integrate products, follow process plans, and perform robot setup and testing per schematics. Growth and collaboration are emphasized in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical cert in robotics/mechatronics preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years with FANUC experience in manufacturing, machine building, and panel wiring.
  • Experience as an Automation Engineer and Line Builder.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical docs, prints & schematics.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues.
  • Knowledge of electrical/robotic systems and components.
  • Proficiency using hand and power tools for electrical work.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • MIOSHA regulations (Lockout, Hazardous Material).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, modify, and integrate products per documentation.
  • Follow Manufacturing Process Plan and document checks.
  • Place, assemble, and secure robots and equipment per documents.
  • Move robot via teach pendant and load/upgrade FAC software.
  • Troubleshoot or debug mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Disassemble and prepare FAC products for shipment.

Job description

Who You Are

Technician IIManufacturing Automation Solutions will execute FAC product manufacturing and business requirements by applying electrical, pneumatic, and computer skills to deliver orders that meet customer expectations while upholding FAC quality standards.

How It’s Done
  • Consistently achieves high quality when working on Product assembly, modification, and/or system integration from documentation (prints, illustration, and schematics)
  • Display workmanship that meets process demand (including FAC standard, Customer specification, and/or appropriate industrial standards).
  • Sequentially follow step by step instructions provided in Manufacturing Process Plan - Documenting all in-process checks.
  • Using engineering design documents – place, assemble, and secure robots and associated equipment in defined locations.
  • Move robot via teach pendant.
  • Load, upgrade, backup FAC software.
  • Define or teach simple robot path.
  • Testing or functional verification of Products and/or Systems as defined (PDE EX testing, Engineer releases or Manufacturing Control plans)
  • Troubleshooting or debugging mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Disassembly and preparation of FAC product and systems for shipment.
  • Proper care and use of FAC tools and compliance with Tool Management Procedure (check‑out and return FAC tooling daily)
  • Compliance with all FAC Robot Safety Procedures (including but not limited to, Haz Mat, Lock out tag out and RSIS robot safety)
  • Reliable and consistent attendance required.
  • Maintain high level of professionalism in appearance, communication, and work area organization / cleanliness.
