Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Wind Technician to support turbine maintenance and performance across our Kansas installations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize turbine operations while following strict safety protocols.

A Wind Technician Certificate or related experience is required, along with a high school diploma and legal work authorization in the U.S. You must be physically fit, able to work at heights, and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing wind turbine systems.
  • Proven ability to read schematics and follow maintenance procedures.
  • Strong safety mindset and adherence to protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee turbine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

  • Follow safety inspections and procedures in all tasks.
  • Time code all activities to support project tracking.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth operation of wind turbines, directly addressing maintenance, troubleshooting, and system issues.
  • Maintain and repair wind turbines with your team to keep communities powered.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and perform safety inspections.
  • Collaborate with your team to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
  • Document your work and continuously improve operational processes.
  • Accurately time code all work activities to support clear tracking of task duration, progress, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months with a Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
  • Highly developed problem-solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities.
  • Safety-conscious and committed to best practices.
  • Able to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments.
  • Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
  • Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driver’s license, and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
