Parker Aerospace in Idle Hour, Kentucky is seeking a candidate to lead new product testing and learn test procedures and equipment. You will work with maintenance, engineering, and calibration suppliers to service test equipment and produce well-documented results with design teams.
The role requires an associate degree or 5+ years of related experience, strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read engineering drawings, and basic computer skills.
The selected candidate will be responsible for new product testing.These tests are carried out in accordance with good engineering practices and company procedures. The selected candidate will be responsible for learning all relevant test procedures, becoming an expert in all applicable test equipment and works with appropriate teams for servicing and maintaining the test equipment. The incumbent, because of the high level of related experience and education, is able to carry out assignments with little direct day-to-day supervision.
Sets up and runs testing requested by external and internal customers.
Works with maintenance, engineering, and calibration suppliers to maintain, diagnose, and reapair thermal chambers, ovens, fluid circulators and other test equipment.
Estimates costs including labor hours, test hours, fixture costs, etc. for testing.
Writes technical reports including test results, procedure and calculations.
Works with design engineering to build custom test equipment when needed.
Identifies opportunities for testing improvements through evaluation of current test practices and methods.
Communicates and coordinates testing activities with divisional team members and deals directly with customers as needed.
Creates and maintains well-documented test procedure and results files in accordance with design control procedures.
Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards and good housekeeping practices.
Understands and implements the health, safety, and environmental policies and integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into daily work activities.
