Job summary

Fox Valley Fire & Safety is hiring an entry to mid-level Fire Alarm Technician to perform testing, inspection, and verification of sprinkler and fire alarm systems at customer sites. The role requires attention to safety, clear documentation, and effective communication with building owners and managers in Elk Grove/Chicagoland area.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, with early start times and opportunities for training on a variety of manufacturer systems.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in fire alarm testing and inspection preferred.
• NICET Level I in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of fire alarm system components and functions.

Job Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in fire alarm testing and inspection preferred.
• Basic knowledge of fire alarm system components and functions.
• Experience with low-voltage systems or electrical background preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• NICET Level I in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months. High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at heights and in a variety of customer environments, including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Compensation Information

This is an hourly role starting between $23-24 hourly for an entry level Technician. Experienced technicians are encouraged to apply and compensation can be discussed before interviewing for the role.
