What you will be doing
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is a leading North American provider of midstream energy services, including natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, storage, NGL transportation, crude oil gathering, and petrochemicals. Our assets include pipelines, storage capacity, and marine transportation systems.
The I & E Technician modifies, repairs, or overhauls electronic and electrical equipment and controls. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installing instrumentation and electrical components safely.
- Troubleshooting control systems, gas turbines, generators, and chromatography equipment.
- Running conduit, wiring, changing motors, and maintaining lighting and motor controls.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Maintaining monitoring devices like gas, flame, fire detectors, vibration, and temperature monitors.
- Reading and updating P&ID and electrical diagrams.
- Installing and maintaining end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, and drives.
- Performing preventative maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment.
- Providing technical support and training as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required; technical trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
- Journeyman electrical designation is desirable.
- At least 5 years of electrical and instrumentation experience, preferably in energy.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, AC voltage, and DC systems.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, prioritize tasks, and ensure safety.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and good communication skills.
- Ability to read safety procedures, blueprints, P&ID, and manuals.
- Willingness to work overtime, handle callouts, and pass DOT drug testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and physical abilities, including lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Candidate must live or be willing to relocate within 1 hour of the location.
