Technician, I & E (Orla Plant) [Sign-on Bonus] (Maintenance)
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage, import/export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage, and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage, and terminals; and marine transportation primarily on U.S. inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. Our assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines, 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, and petrochemicals, and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
The I & E Technician modifies, repairs, or overhauls electronic and electrical equipment and controls. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- This position offers a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus and other location incentives.
- Installing instrumentation and electrical components safely.
- Troubleshooting control systems, complex equipment, gasturbines, generators, and gas chromatography.
- Running conduit, pulling wires, changing motors, and maintaining lighting and basic motor controls.
- Maintaining, modifying, and troubleshooting Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Maintaining advanced monitoring devices such as gas, flame, fire detectors, vibration, and temperature monitors.
- Reading and updating P&ID and electrical diagrams and other electrical drawings.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, and variable frequency drives.
- Performing preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment.
- Providing training and technical support as needed.
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Technical trade school, apprenticeship, certification, or associate degree in instrumentation or related field preferred.
- Journeyman electrical designation is desirable.
- At least 5 years of electrical and instrumentation experience, preferably in energy industry.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and familiarity with AC voltage (120-480V), three-phase and single-phase, plus 24 VDC.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple tasks in stressful or hazardous conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety, mechanical aptitude, and dexterity.
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing.
- Good communication, decision-making skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and manuals.
- Willingness to work overtime and handle callouts.
- Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Strong math, logic, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team, and eager to learn.
- Good organizational skills and physical ability to work indoors and outdoors, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
