Job summary

Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) in Wharton, NJ seeks a versatile technician to support design/build projects for soil, groundwater and wastewater systems. You will assemble mechanical and basic electrical components and perform field work under supervision.

The role includes operating temporary treatment systems, maintaining and inspecting equipment, handling materials, and assisting with shop and yard tasks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical background preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• OSHA 40 preferred.
• Overtime and weekend availability as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and basic electrical assembly of projects under supervision.
• Field work as necessary under supervision of Project Managers/Superintendents.
• Operate temporary treatment systems.
• Routine maintenance and inspection of equipment.
• Materials receiving and loading/unloading trucks.
• Pickup and delivery of materials as necessary.
• Preparation of equipment (cleaning, grinding, painting, loading carbon, etc.).
• Miscellaneous tasks such as plumbing, rough carpentry, etc.
• General shop and yard housekeeping and restocking materials.
• Maintaining a safe working environment.

Job description

Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) is a leading environmental contractor located in Wharton, NJ. We offer design/build services for temporary and permanent treatment systems, and operation and maintenance services for a variety of soil, groundwater and wastewater treatment systems. GWTT provides construction, dewatering, remediation and environmental construction services. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Mechanical and basic electrical assembly of projects under the supervision of Superintendent or Project Engineer
• Field work as necessary under the supervision of Project Managers and /or Superintendents
• Operate temporary treatment systems
• Routine maintenance and inspection of equipment – change pump seals, repair flow meters, etc.
• Materials receiving and loading/unloading trucks
• Pickup and delivery of materials as necessary
• Preparation of equipment – cleaning, grinding, painting, loading carbon, pulling materials from stock, etc.
• Miscellaneous job tasks such as mechanical, plumbing, rough carpentry, etc.
• Cleaning of equipment returned from rental sites – cleaning, power washing, grinding, painting, unloading carbon, restocking material, etc.
• General shop and yard housekeeping – sweeping, cleaning common areas, emptying trash cans, snow removal, etc.
• Restocking materials
• Always maintaining a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Mechanical/electrical background preferred
• OSHA 40 preferred
• Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed

Salary: $20-24 per hour, based on experience
