Job summary

Pine Environmental Services is seeking a Technician to maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, clean and repair a wide range of environmental testing and monitoring equipment. You will provide high quality calibrated instruments to our customers and ensure accurate documentation.

This non-exempt position is based in Minneapolis, MN. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Test, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Prepare equipment with all required accessories, calibration information, manufacturer instructions and all paperwork related to the rental.
  • Respond to customer calls for technical assistance, troubleshooting and training.
  • Assign asset status and appropriate labeling for equipment.
  • Inspect returned equipment to ensure all equipment and peripherals are returned from the field.
  • Maintain thorough record keeping on electrical safety inspections, environmental equipment and consumable products.
  • Communicate any requests for spare parts, accessories, and ancillary rental items to properly maintain equipment.
  • Maintain and update the SDS Chemical Register, review all new SDS Documents.
  • Assist in maintaining the technical and software library.
  • Assist team members when needed.
  • Be available to work after hours, weekend and holiday emergency when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose

The Technician's primary responsibility is to maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, clean, and repair a wide variety of environmental testing and monitoring equipment. They will be responsible for providing high quality calibrated and well‑maintained instruments to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assure all work is performed completely, correctly, and with the highest degree of quality
  • Test, calibrate, repair and maintain company equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Prepare equipment with all required accessories, calibration information, manufacturer instructions and all paperwork related to the rental
  • Respond to customer calls for technical assistance, troubleshooting and training
  • Assign asset status and appropriate labeling for equipment

Education / Experience

  • Ability to multitask and liaise with customers in different fields
  • Ability to follow all applicable safety regulations
Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands

This position is 10% sedentary and 90% active and may include activities such as sitting, walking, standing, bending, stretching, climbing (ladder) for long periods throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted and may require the ability to drive a Pine vehicle. May be required to work outside normal business hours including mornings and evenings.
