Job summary

Pine Environmental Services is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Equipment Technician to inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain environmental monitoring equipment. You will ensure customers receive reliable, accurately calibrated gear that meets safety and performance standards.

The role emphasizes solving technical challenges, operating precise equipment, and delivering excellent customer service in a warehouse/workshop setting, with occasional field work as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, trade school, or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience servicing/calibrating environmental/industrial equipment is a plus.
  • Customer-facing technical support experience is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain environmental monitoring equipment per manufacturer specs.
  • Quality inspect equipment prior to delivery to customers.
  • Prepare rental gear with accessories, certificates, and manuals.
  • Inspect returns and verify all items are accounted for.
  • Maintain accurate asset labeling and service records.
  • Conduct electrical safety inspections and document results.
  • Manage spare parts and consumables stock for equipment.
  • Update SDS and equipment documentation as issued.
  • Provide technical support and basic training to customers.

Position Summary

Pine Environmental Services is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and mechanically inclinedEnvironmental Equipment Technician to join our growing team.

In this hands-on technical role, you will inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of environmental testing and monitoring equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive dependable, accurately calibrated equipment that meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working with precision equipment, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain environmental monitoring equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure equipment is fully operational before customer delivery.
  • Prepare rental equipment with all required accessories, calibration certificates, operating instructions, and supporting documentation.
  • Inspect returned equipment and verify that all equipment and accessories have been returned.
  • Assign equipment status and maintain accurate asset labeling.
  • Maintain detailed service, calibration, repair, inspection, and maintenance records.
  • Perform and document electrical safety inspections.
  • Maintain inventory levels for replacement parts, accessories, consumables, and ancillary rental equipment.
  • Maintain and update the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Chemical Register and review newly issued SDS documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining technical manuals, software libraries, and equipment documentation.
  • Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting, product guidance, and basic operational training.
  • Support branch operations and assist team members as business needs require.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency service when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred

  • Technical school, trade school, or apprenticeship training.
  • Previous experience servicing, calibrating, repairing, or maintaining environmental, industrial, or electronic equipment.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical support environment.
  • Experience using hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Working knowledge of applicable workplace safety regulations.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in a warehouse and workshop environment with occasional travel to customer locations.

Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, moderate noise levels, and other environmental conditions while servicing equipment. The position requires frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and coworkers throughout the workday.

This position has been designated as aSafety-Sensitive Position and requires strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.

Employees must be able to:
