Job summary

Forum Energy Technologies seeks a maintenance technician for preparation, assembly, and repair of oilfield products. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, tear down/reassembly with hand and air tools, and travel to remote sites as needed.

You must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Safety and HSE participation are required; occasional international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a mechanical-based role.
• Hydraulics experience preferred but not required.
• Prior experience with drilling rigs is an asset.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license required.
• Basic hydraulics and mechanics knowledge; mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Performs independent, routine, or repetitive assignments using standard work procedures.
• Troubleshoots equipment to identify/diagnose problems.
• Tears down, repairs and reassembles equipment with hand and air tools.
• Willing to travel to remote job sites as needed; possible international travel.
• Participates in rotational on-call schedule; adheres to HSE program.

Job description

The preparation, assembly, and repair of various types of oilfield products. Stamping and labeling equipment. Able to operate air tools. Responsible for ensuring compliance with established corporate standards. Comply and participate in the company Health and Safety program. Excellent housekeeping of shop and work area is required. This position is a part of an on‑call rotation and may require travel to remote job site locations as well as, occasional international travel. Active participation in FET’s Health, Safety and Environment program is required. Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities.

• Performs independent, routine, or repetitive assignments using a variety of simple techniques and standard work procedures.
• Troubleshooting of equipment to identify/diagnose problems
• Equipment tear down, repair and reassembly using hand and air tools
• Ability to travel to remote job site locations as needed
• Occasional international travel as needed
• Participation in the rotational on‑call schedule
• Active participation in FET’s HSE program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of hydraulics & mechanics
• Must have a mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Good communication and comprehension skills (verbally and written)
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve independently
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, with the ability to change direction as needed
• Capable to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license required.

Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical based role
• Experience related to hydraulics preferred, but not required
• Prior experience with drilling rigs considered an asset.

This is a safety sensitive position.
