Job summary

Setpoint-Integrated in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Technician Helper to assist senior technicians with equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations. The role includes preparing tools, materials, and workspaces to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.

You will perform basic troubleshooting under supervision, document job data, and help maintain a safe, organized work area. Willingness to travel and assist in field assignments is required or as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• TWIC (preferred).
• Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred).
• Job-specific degree and/or certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and quality procedures.
• Certified to operate Forklift.
• Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components.
• Return valves/parts to proper bins, boxes, etc.
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.).
• May disassemble valves without damaging parts per manual.
• Document and enter job data into applicable database and document photos.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• May assist in field assignments.
• May climb and work at elevations depending on job scope.
• May operate motor vehicles.
• Attend job and safety training as necessary.

Summary:

The Technician Helper assists senior technicians in various tasks, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations. This role involves supporting the technical team by preparing tools, materials, and workspaces, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. The Technician Helper also performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks under supervision, contributing to the overall productivity and success of the technical operations. This position requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities:

• Follows all company safety and quality procedures
• Certified to operate Forklift
• Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve components
• Return Valves/Parts to Proper Bins, Boxes, etc.
• Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
• May be required to disassemble valve without damaging parts per the manufacturer's Installation & Operation Manual
• May be required to document and enter job data into applicable database and document photos
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Maintain equipment in area, as required
• May be required to help in field assignments
• May be required to climb and work at various elevations depending on job scope
• May be required operate motor vehicle
• Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required

Positional Requirements & Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred)
• Current Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred)Job specific degree and/or certification (preferred)

Essential Physical Functions:

• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, handsand/or fingers
• Operating machinery and/or power tools
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Assessing the accuracy, neatnessand thoroughness of the work assigned
• Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
• Able to hold body weight while swinging on rope during static and dynamic transfer (offshore)
• Able to passperiodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
