FSEC in Tucson, AZ seeks an experienced Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems Technician/Foreman for the Tucson team. You will install and service life safety, fire alarm, and suppression systems, read plans, and ensure code compliance across sites.

Qualifications

3+ years working in Life Safety field.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

Install Fire Alarm and life safety systems and related tasks.
Read plans and understand drawings for installations.
Inspect and certify new system installs per department needs.
Diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
Test equipment to verify performance.
Follow safety manuals and maintain on-site safety.
Keep daily documentation: reports, work orders, time clocks.
Communicate with Field Supervisor on status and delays.
Ensure timely completion with proper job numbers and times.
Comply with National Codes and quality installation practices.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours calls.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems Technician/Foreman to join our Tucson team! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performing installation and service of various Life Safety, Fire alarm, and Suppression Systems and other tasks as assigned by the Manager.
Troubleshooting and repair of Fire Alarm Systems.

Responsibilities/Duties

Installation of Fire Alarm and various life safety systems.
Read plans and understand drawings.
Inspection and certification of new system installs as required by other departments.
Diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
Tests all equipment to ensure performance of installed systems.
Work in compliance with the Company’s safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
All documentation is turning on time and filled out completely (example: Building Reports, work orders & Time Clock, etc.)
Daily communications with Field Supervisor on delays, requirements and general status of jobs.
Daily work orders and other documentation is kept up to date with customer requests, work performed each day, job numbers, dates and times and tasks assigned to technicians.
Time events are accurate and filled out daily, complete with job numbers, locations, time adds up, hours are correct.
All work is performed to National Codes & standards and quality installation techniques are practiced.
Technician may be required to participate in an on call rotation for after hours emergency calls.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

In accordance with applicable Federal/State laws, may perform the following:

Responsible for all on-site employees (superseded only for code and liability issues).
Provide day to day coordination of duties and expectations.
Ability to request site removal of employee.
Request disciplinary action.
Supervision and critique of workmanship.
Raise and promotion recommendations.

Accountability

Technicians/Foreman report directly to the Installation/Service/Service Sales Manager. Secondary accountability will be to Executive team members, and customers of the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Nicet 2 or Comparable systems Certification’s preferred but not required.
CSA in Fire extinguisher, Kitchen Hood, Fire Alarm or Sprinkler preferred but not required.

Knowledge

3+ years working in the Life Safety Field on a daily basis.
Ability to read blue prints and schematics.
Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC, IMC, Life Safety 101 Codes.
Knowledge and ability to use and operate required test equipment.
Basic AC/DC circuit and safety knowledge

Physical Requirements

1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.

2. Some light lifting of objects is required.

3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.

4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.

6. Job requires working off of ladders and elevated work platforms.
