Job summary

Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Dover, DE is seeking a full-time, on-site Environmental Services worker responsible for floor care, machinery operation, and maintaining high standards of guest service. You will wax floors, clean and monitor trash, and ensure safety and recycling policies are followed.

The position requires a high school diploma or better, English proficiency, reliability, and availability on weekends, holidays, and nights.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain floor machinery.
• Clean floors (vacuum, mop, shampoo); spot cleaning as necessary.
• Monitor and remove trash; clean ash/trash containers.
• Clean slot bases/machines and push in slot chairs.
• Greet guests and provide exceptional service.
• Use cleaning chemicals and safety equipment as instructed.
• Communicate maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Train new employees as needed.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Will operate various floor machinery such as: Speed Scrubber, Floor Buffer, Carpet Extractors
• Prepare and wax tile floors
• Operate and maintain floor machinery
• Enhances the guest experience by providing exceptional service.
• Cleans floors (vacuum, mop, shampoo); spot cleaning as necessary
• Monitors ash/trash containers, cleaning and removing trash as necessary
• Cleans slot bases/machines; pushes in slot chairs
• Greets 7 interacts with guests when appropriate
• Uses cleaning chemicals as instructed
• Uses safety equipment as required
• Communicates all maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Collects/secures lost-and-found articles.
• Trains new employees as needed.
• Establishes and maintains close working relationships with all Dover Downs employees to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
• Adheres to department and property policies and procedures.
• Represents Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.
• Control inventory of supplies.
• Maintains knowledge of the property.
• Makes suggestions for improvements in overall operations with emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, as well as reducing costs.
• Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.
• Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
• Follows all relevant policies and procedures.
• Complies with the company’s recycling program standards.
• Provides exceptional customer service
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Union Representation: This position is represented by Unite Here and is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as scheduled
