Job summary

Walmart is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine upkeep across store facilities and equipment. The role requires multi-craft skills, hands-on repairs, and strict adherence to safety and maintenance schedules.

The ideal candidate will diagnose issues, document activities in the work order system, and respond quickly to emergencies. A valid driver’s license and vocational certification are preferred.

• Follow established maintenance schedules and guidelines under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager
• Inspect, clean, repair, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose and resolve issues
• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities
• Provide prompt responses to emergency maintenance calls
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Able to move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
• No serious traffic violations as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
