Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Specialty Equipment Food Technician in Yaphank, NY to diagnose, repair and maintain food service equipment across a regional store network.

You will develop preventative maintenance schedules, complete PMs on time, and train Store Associates to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service experience in commercial maintenance.
• Familiarity with operating and servicing equipment including programming and installation.
• Must be able to log into and utilize the work order system to accept and complete requests.
• Conduct daily inspections after service and check for cleanliness and repair needs.
• Provide training to Store Associates weekly regarding care and cleaning of equipment.
• Evaluate asset condition and submit replacement recommendations to management.
• Develop and maintain parts inventory to support the maintenance program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Preventative Maintenance for general maintenance trades across ~28 Walmart stores.
• Complete and adhere to training requirements to safely operate and maintain food service equipment.
• Log into and use the work order system to manage requests.
• Perform daily area inspections and identify repair needs.

Competitive Compensation:

• Salary range: $45,760 - $72,800
• Currently offering a $2000 sign-on bonus (for select locations)
• Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications and other job-related factors.
• Additional bonus available for this role is available and will be disclosed during the interview process (not included above).

Essential Functions:

• Maintain Preventative Maintenance for all General Maintenance trades in a region of approximately 28 Walmart stores

• Must be able to log into and utilize industry standard work order management system to accept and complete work requests
• Conduct daily inspections after service by walking the area and checking for cleanliness and repair needs
• Provide training to Store Associates weekly regarding care and cleaning of equipment
• Evaluate asset condition and submit recommendations for replacement to management
• Develop and maintain parts inventory required to support preventative maintenance program in assigned area

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications…

• Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

• Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls

• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
