What you’ll do...

Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for overseeing exterior facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role involves managing maintenance activities, coordinating third‑party providers, and conducting quality inspections to maintain safe, clean, and efficient outdoor environments. The technician supports cost control through procurement and warranty management, operates heavy machinery, and leads efforts to improve facility sustainability and operational efficiency. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential to address customer needs and uphold company standards in all assigned tasks.

About the team: The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining the store’s landscape, parking lots, and vegetation to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. This team manages seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice control, while operating specialized equipment safely and efficiently. They collaborate closely with management and third‑party providers to uphold quality standards and support facility operations. Focused on compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, the team continuously seeks improvements to enhance facility conditions and reduce costs, contributing to a well‑maintained and sustainable store exterior.

What you’ll do:

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety and certification standards.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational and safety requirements.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Coordinate purchases of parts, equipment, and supplies while controlling costs and submitting warranty claims.
• Lead third‑party providers, coach associates, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development.
• Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facility sustainability and reduce operating costs.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
• Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve facility and equipment issues promptly.
• Skilled in coordinating purchases, cost control, and budget preparation for maintenance projects.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to guide third‑party providers and support team development.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications…

21 years of age or older.

Valid state‑issued driver’s license.

No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.

No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.

No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.

No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.

Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre‑hire.

As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.

2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Preferred Qualifications…

Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre‑hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card, Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area., Experience in third‑party management., Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish., State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
