Qualificações

Position Summary

Role summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role involves managing seasonal maintenance activities, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and coordinates with third‑party providers to uphold quality standards. By troubleshooting issues and delivering responsive customer service, this position contributes to sustaining facility functionality and safety while promoting continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

About the team: The General Maintenance team ensures Walmart’s facilities operate smoothly through effective project management and strict adherence to safety standards. This team plans and executes maintenance projects, manages budgets, and complies with OSHA regulations. Members collaborate to address facility needs such as landscaping, snow removal, and equipment upkeep, focusing on quality and operational efficiency. By applying best practices and fostering strong partnerships across departments, the team delivers reliable, safe, and cost‑effective maintenance solutions that support Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

Operate and maintain facility exterior services, including seasonal snow and ice management using appropriate equipment. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety and environmental policies during all operations. Lead and coach third‑party providers, conducting performance evaluations and quality assurance inspections. Manage budgets by preparing cost estimates and approving purchases for parts, materials, and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns to maintain safe, clean, and functional facility conditions. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and ensure proper documentation and safety checks. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.

What you’ll bring

Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently. Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Experience managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal. Ability to lead and develop third‑party providers and associates through coaching and performance evaluations. Skilled in troubleshooting, customer service, and resolving facility‑related issues promptly. Competence in budgeting, cost control, and sourcing materials and equipment for repairs and upgrades. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with management, associates, and external partners.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre‑hire.
• As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
• 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre‑hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card, Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
• Experience in third‑party management.
• Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
• State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
