Summary

Spire is seeking a Facilities Technician to work in the St. Louis, MO operation. This position will be responsible for maintaining Spire facilities by performing repairs, maintenance, and additions to keep buildings, furniture, fixtures, equipment, infrastructure, and grounds in excellent order and condition.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure proper repair and efficient operation of building systems.
2. Respond to and manage maintenance requests using the computer-aided facilities management system (CAFM).
3. Assist in carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, and related trades.
4. Test and service electrical circuits, locate electrical issues, and perform electrical work per code.
5. Operate and maintain heating and air conditioning systems.
6. Maintain electronic, voice, and data systems.
7. Maintain building access systems, doors, locks, and keys.
8. Move office furniture and set up conference rooms.
9. Perform groundskeeping duties, including snow and ice removal.
10. Assist with custodial functions.
11. Supervise outside contractors as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience required.
• Experience with CMMS, CAFM, or BAS preferred.
• Ability to recognize and report hazards.
• Ability to operate tools and machinery, read blueprints, and communicate effectively.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

• Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with possible overtime.
• Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, including construction areas and uneven surfaces.
• Travel to various locations may be required.
• Must be physically capable of climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors in various temperatures.
