SERVPRO of Allentown is hiring an Entry Level Restoration Technician to assist with water and fire damage mitigation, mold remediation, and contents care. Training and industry certification opportunities are provided, with a clear path for advancement into lead technician roles.

The role is a full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, with an on-call rotation for emergencies. No prior restoration experience is required; we provide hands-on training, certifications, and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent must be met.
• No prior experience required; willingness to learn is essential.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly is required.
• Comfortable wearing PPE including respirators when needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Must pass a background check and initial drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Emergency water and fire damage mitigation and extraction assistance.
• Set up, monitor, and tear down restoration equipment like air movers and dehumidifiers.
• Perform demolition tasks when necessary (remove damaged materials).
• Pack, move, and protect customer belongings and contents.

Key Benefits & Compensation

• Pay Rate: $20 - $25.00/hour starting rate, plus overtime potential.
• Sign-on Bonus: $1,200 sign-on bonus.

Roles & Responsibilities (R&R)

1. Emergency Water & Fire Damage Mitigation

• Assist with extraction of standing water using pumps, extractors, and heavy-duty shop vacuum equipment.
• Set up, monitor, and tear down restoration equipment such as industrial air movers, dehumidifiers, and scrubbers.
• Perform demolition tasks when necessary (removing damaged drywall, flooring, trim, and insulation).

2. Mold & Soot Remediation

• Help set up containment zones using plastic sheeting and negative air machines to prevent cross-contamination.
• Apply antimicrobial treatments and wipe down soot-covered structural surfaces in homes or commercial buildings.

3. Packing, Moving & Contents Care

• Pack, move, and protect customer furniture, electronics, and personal belongings prior to structural repairs.
• Clean and deodorize salvageable contents on-site or in the warehouse.

4. Equipment Maintenance & Vehicle Care

• Clean, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment after returning from job sites.
• Keep service vans organized, fully stocked, and clean for the next service call.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• No prior experience required—valid work ethic and willingness to learn are top priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in varied environments (attics, basements, crawlspaces).
• Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including respirators when needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and initial drug screen.

• Emergency Response Readiness: Restoration is a 24/7 industry. Entry‑level techs participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to handle after-hours emergencies, offering significant overtime earning potential.
• Customer Facing Representation: Technicians are often the first face a homeowner sees during a crisis. Maintaining a polite, professional, and empathetic demeanor is a vital part of the job.
