RJE Telecom, LLC. is seeking a Technician Engineering Plant in Northern Virginia. The role focuses on designing and managing outside plant work orders and drawings under general supervision, coordinating with drafting and GIS teams, and planning cable routes.

Applicants must live in the Northern Virginia area or near Winchester/Warrenton. Compensation starts at $24–$26 per hour, with a unit pay agreement discussed at offer. Strong Excel/Word skills and OSP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorized to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years in Telecom Outside Plant Engineering
• Proficient with Excel and Word
• Located near Winchester and/or Warrenton, VA

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare outside plant work orders and drawings; maintain records
• Provide cost estimates for work orders and prepare placement/memos
• Coordinate with drafting and GIS teams to produce construction drawings
• Plan, design and obtain permits for new cable routes
• Design aerial and underground telecom plant routes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

At RJE Telecom, as a Technician Engineering Plant, you'll design and manage outside plant work orders and drawings under general supervision. You'll also coordinate with the drafting and GIS teams. Additionally, you will plan and permit new cable routes.

Candidate must live in the Northern Virginia area or close to Winchester and/or Warrenton, Virginia.

Compensation Data

The unit based position with a minimum pay range of $24 to $26 per hour based on experience. A unit pay agreement will be provided at the time of offer letter for your review.

What you’ll do

• Design and prepare outside plant work orders and associated drawings, including documentation and accurate record updates
• Provide estimates for work order expenditures and prepare placement, as well as joint use memos
• Coordinate with drafting and GIS personnel in remote offices to produce construction drawings for the network
• Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes
• Design aerial and underground telecommunications plant routes
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• At least two years of Telecom Outside Plant Engineering experience
• Proficient with Excel and Word
• Located near Winchester and/or Warrenton, Virginia

Knowledge of

• Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial or underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Infrastructure plans and surveys to avoid conflicts with underground obstacles to ensure proper installation in easements and public rights of way
• Fiber optic counts, assignments, and splicing schematics in high-density environments
• AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems
• MUST have experience in designing for Verizon
