Job summary

RJE Telecom, LLC. is seeking a Technician Engineering Plant to design and manage outside plant work orders and drawings under general supervision.

You will coordinate with drafting and GIS teams and plan and permit new cable routes for fiber networks in the Winchester/Warrenton area. The role requires 2+ years of OSP engineering experience, proficiency with Excel and Word, and a willingness to work on-site near Winchester or Warrenton, Virginia.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of telecom outside plant engineering experience.
• Proficient with Excel and Word.
• Located near Winchester, VA or Warrenton, VA.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare outside plant work orders and drawings, including documentation and record updates.
• Provide estimates for work order expenditures and prepare memos.
• Coordinate with drafting and GIS personnel to produce construction drawings for the network.
• Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes.
• Design aerial and underground telecom plant routes.
• Other duties as assigned.

At RJE Telecom, LLC, as a Technician Engineering Plant, you'll design and manage outside plant work orders and drawings under general supervision. You'll also coordinate with the drafting and GIS teams. Additionally, you will plan and permit new cable routes.

What You’ll Do

• Design and prepare outside plant work orders and associated drawings, including documentation and accurate record updates
• Provide estimates for work order expenditures and prepare placement, as well as joint use memos
• Coordinate with drafting and GIS personnel in remote offices to produce construction drawings for the network
• Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes
• Design aerial and underground telecommunications plant routes
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• At least two years of Telecom Outside Plant Engineering experience
• Proficient with Excel and Word
• Located near Winchester and/or Warrenton, Virginia

Knowledge of

• Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial or underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Infrastructure plans and surveys to avoid conflicts with underground obstacles to ensure proper installation in easements and public rights of way
• Government permit requirements
• Fiber optic counts, assignments, and splicing schematics in high-density environments
• AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems
• MUST have experience in designing for Verizon

• Routinely: operate vehicle, walk, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: climb stairs and stand
