Job summary

Universal Health Services' Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking an Observation ED Technician to support the Emergency Department. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist with direct and indirect patient care, follow the care plan, and help maintain efficient ED operations for patients from infancy to the elderly.

Responsibilities include administering patient care under RN/physician guidance and leveraging emergency care skills.

Qualifications

• CA EMT, CA Paramedic, CA CNA or Medical Assistant required - OR - RN student in 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• BLS (Current from AHA) required
• Dysrhythmia certification (BART) required
• CPI training within 90 days of hire
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred

• Manage the individual needs of patients and maintain smooth patient flow in the Emergency Department.

Observation Emergency Department (ED) Technician

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience:

• CA EMT, CA Paramedic, CA CNA or Medical Assistant required -OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• BLS (Current from AHA) required
• Basic dysrhythmia certification (BART) required
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) obtained within 90 days of hire
• High School Graduate or equivilent
• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred
