About the role


This position supports Residential engineering design and development by assisting the engineering team and performing product development evaluations.


Responsibilities

  • Assists with assembling prototypes and application fixtures.
  • Performs development testing as directed and supervised by engineering staff.
  • Perform Engineering Specification testing in accordance with documented internal procedures.
  • Assist engineers in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and replication of product failures
  • Participates in maintenance of the engineering lab including equipment, materials and component inventory.
  • Prepare documentation and kit of electronic components for prototype build activity

Qualifications

  • Capable of soldering and rework of electronic assemblies including all type of SMT components.
  • Able to operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency generators, network analyzers.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with Schematic Capture and PCB layout. Altium experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics and specifications.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Capable of creating technical / procedural documentation

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of an AS degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a product development environment
  • Experience with electronics lab equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics assemblies
