Job summary

Gildan Yarns is seeking an Electronic Technician in Salisbury, NC to operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment for the production line. You will troubleshoot faults, install and test equipment, and connect wiring to breakers and transformers as needed.

The role requires reading programs, loading and downloading programs via laptop software, and maintaining strict safety practices with PPE in required areas.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and programs.

Job description

Job Title: Electronic Technician

Hours: 2-2-3 schedule 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all Plant production and ancillary service equipment.
• Troubleshoot and correct problems associated with all equipment.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and any other components needed.
• Read program, up load programs and download programs using laptop computer and software.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using test equipment such as ohmmeters, volt meters, and oscilloscopes to ensure proper operation of all factory equipment.
• Maintain safety at all time.
• Utilize all safety appliances when necessary; consistently monitor your area for necessary cleaning and organization at all times.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
• Report accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Wear hearing protection in required areas.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for specific work tasks.
• Perform miscellaneous work tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Follow safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
• Report unsafe work conditions.
• Wear dust mask when using compressed air or when exposed to dusty conditions.
