Daikin Comfort in Texas is seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician to study existing processes and drive efficiency while upholding safety and quality standards. You will educate operations staff on Lean-Kaizen principles and lead projects across Assembly, Fabrication, and Materials.

You will facilitate Kaizen workshops, coach process owners, and analyze data to improve KPIs and KAIs. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to implement standard work and safety

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or vocational training strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
  • Experience with Lean/Kaizen and problem-solving tools.
  • Strong data analysis and ability to drive KPIs.
  • Proficient with Excel; CAD knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Kaizen workshops and improvement projects across Assembly, Fabrication, and Materials.
  • Coach process owners in lean tools and standard work practices.
  • Analyze processes and data to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Support safety, quality, and process standardization initiatives.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to allocate resources and track progress.

Job description

The Continuous Improvement Technician studies existing processes and looks for ways to increase efficiency and productivity while ensuring quality and safety protocols are met. This role will educate employees on Continuous Improvement/Kaizen principles, practices, and tools in order to drive process improvements on the operations KPIs and KAIs; as well as to lead/execute and identify projects for the same purpose. This role will support various areas of production such as Assembly, Fabrication, and Materials.

May Include
  • Implementation of Lean-Kaizen projects: including application of lean tools to eliminate waste, workstation design, trial runs execution and support, plant organizing, markings and labels, process analysis like time studies, documentation, presentations
  • Lead and participate on Kaizen workshops, training sessions, committee projects, and other activities needed to improve KPIs and support the continuous improvement with a systemic approach
  • Educate, coach, and challenge process owners in the use of lean and problem-solving tools, approaches, and techniques to create and improve processes in our operation
  • Drive safety, quality, and efficiency measures through proactive problem resolution, follow-up, and standardization
  • Analyzes processes, workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Support, define, and implement work standards
  • Data collection systems/process design and implementation as required
  • Data analysis for metric tracking, improvement, and metric generation, including statistical approach
  • If needed: Ability to operate heavy and light-duty material handling equipment (tugger, forklift, reach truck) or open to developing skills and competency to operate Material Handling Equipment
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing systems and operations (assembly, fabrication, materials)
  • Experience in manufacturing operations (assembly, fabrication, materials)
  • Demonstrated use of good judgment and decision-making skills with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Serve as team’s point of contact with other functions and upper management
  • Be able to provide team with motivation and required resources if need it
  • Lay the groundwork for gaining approval by upper management to implement any team recommendations
  • Coordinate with required supervisors for availability of personnel
  • Leadership and team player as needed
  • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in related role
Education
  • Associates degree / Vocational training strongly preferred or equivalent experience
