Job summary

Kelvion is seeking an experienced professional to lead various continuous improvement projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience, preferably in a serial manufacturing environment.

You will need strong computer skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication skills. The position requires a candidate capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working under potentially hazardous conditions.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assures that all practices are utilized to drive results and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensures that standard operating procedures exist to meet both the short- and long-term needs of the business and shares best practices with affected work groups.
  • Leads waste audit processes, including but not limited to kaizens & 5S.
  • Compiles and prioritizes observation reports for departmental managers.
  • Helps to drive departmental decisions to become more proactive in process control and reaction and in identifying and communicating quality or process issues.
  • Conducts training and assessments as directed.
  • Provides support to production departments utilizing various continuous improvement tools.
  • Performs regular assessments to ensure the correct application of methods, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary to ensure improved products or services.
  • Contributes to identification of new metrics for judging efficiency and productivity.
  • Aids in the development of materials, tools, and presentations in support of continuous improvement issues.
  • Works with safety department to improve the overall safety record of the plant, ensures all departments have identified continuous improvement projects, and ensures projects are progressing within projected timelines.
  • Document current and ideal practices and use post-completion audits to assure compliance of improvements.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the business.

Computer Skills

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, cloud data storage and sharing, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, interpret & generate CAD drawings, layouts, graphics, etc.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related role.
  • Prior experience in a serial manufacturing environment preferred.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
