Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington state is seeking an experienced technician for precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware used in spaceflight systems. You will apply chemistry fundamentals to ensure cleanliness and reliability of components, while following strict safety and quality protocols.

The role emphasizes hands-on work in the CPV Lab, use of lifting equipment, and meticulous documentation, with a schedule Monday–Thursday and a strong team-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.

• Good verbal and written communication skills; able to interface with software systems and databases.

Responsibilities

• Clean and passivate hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision methods.
• Safely handle hardware with overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
• Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems.
• Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, particle count and precise weighing.
• Package hardware for storage or shipment and perform shop-level maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness of CPV Lab and Certified Clean Room area and follow safety regulations.

Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special MentionsA Shift: Monday – Thursday (5:00AM – 3:30 PM) - (40 hrs./wk)Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems.Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.Conduct general housekeeping of CPV Lab and Certified Clean Room area.Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment.Minimum QualificationsExperience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues.Ability to lift items to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware.Must possess initiative, a strong work ethic, and a proven ability to follow directions and meet expectations.Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical, or other precision components.Prior experience inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluid systems.Base Pay Range for:WA applicants is $24.74 - $34.63Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
