Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Cardiac Testing Technician to perform non-invasive cardiac tests and assist physicians and RNs in a busy Cardiac Testing Center.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year of clinical experience, knowledge of EKG, stress treadmill and basic arrhythmia, and completion of an electrocardiographic techniques course. EKG certification is required and BLS for Healthcare Professional is also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; minimum one-year clinical background.
• Knowledge of cardiac procedures such as EKG, stress treadmill, and basic arrhythmia.
• Completion of an approved electro-cardio graphic techniques course required.
• EKG Certification required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-invasive cardiac tests in the Cardiac Testing Center.
• Assist physicians and RNs as required.
• Maintain patient data and compile test results for records.
• Use order entry system to access orders and complete exams.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Demonstrate understanding of clinic policies and patient interaction with care.

SUMMARY: Performs any non-invasive cardiac test available through the Cardiac Testing Center as well as a variety of cardiac procedures at a skilled technical level. Assists Physician/RN in other duties as required.

1. Thorough knowledge of test data to ensure safe and accurate completion.
2. Promptly report preliminary reports of abnormal findings of moderate to severe consequences as it pertains to the medical wellbeing of the patient.
3. Responsible for assistance and recognition of an emergency that may arise in the department or at a patient’s bedside (i.e. Code Blue, etc).
4. Responsible for maintenance of patient data and compiling test results for permanent records.
5. Utilizes order entry system to access orders and complete exams

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree required. Minimum one-year clinical background required, with knowledge of cardiac procedures, such as EKG, stress treadmill, and basic arrhythmia. Medical terminology preferred. Completion of an approved electro-cardio graphic techniques course required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: EKG Certification required and Medical Assistant Certification preferred. Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.
