Waste Pro is seeking motivated individuals for Entry-Level Mechanics / Preventative Maintenance Technicians. No extensive experience required; training and career development are provided.

Role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on heavy- and light-duty trucks, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG-powered vehicles. Strong safety culture and growth opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to identify visible vehicle defects such as lights, mirrors, body damage.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Knowledge of tire inspections and air pressure adjustments.
• Ability to learn lubrication schedules and procedures.
• Ability to assist with repairs involving engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to safety.

Responsabilités

• Assist with daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Perform safety inspections during PM services and Safety Lane checks.
• Complete lubrication services on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Learn brake inspection procedures and documentation requirements.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks (diesel, gasoline, CNG).
• Work with various truck types (Rear Load, Front Load, Roll-Off, Grapple, Portable Toilet Service).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per OSHA and company standards.
• Support repairs involving engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Summary of Position

Perform preventative maintenance services and assist with repairs on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks. Gain hands-on experience working with diesel, gasoline, and CNG-powered vehicles, including garbage and recycling trucks.

What You'll Do

Assist drivers with daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Perform safety inspections during PM services and Safety Lane checks

Complete lubrication services on assigned vehicles and equipment

Learn brake inspection procedures and documentation requirements

Assist with maintenance and repairs on:

• Rear Load Trucks
• Front Load Trucks
• Roll-Off Trucks
• Grapple Trucks
• Portable Toilet Service Trucks
• Other heavy-duty waste collection equipment

Perform fluid checks and top-offs, including:

• Engine Oil

Help complete repair orders, parts documentation, and computer data entry

Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OSHA and company standards

Work alongside experienced A & B Technicians to learn repair and diagnostic procedures

Qualifications

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

* Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
* Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.

* Physically able to frequently (100-200 times) twist at the waist to perform work
* Physically able to work in extreme temperatures and weather environments (road calls).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Normal setting for this job is: Inside and Outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
