Job summary

Verizon in New York is hiring a field technician to connect business and government customers to America’s fastest network. This onsite role focuses on installing, monitoring, and maintaining telecommunications equipment at facilities and customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpreting and analyzing service requests, work orders, and circuit diagrams.
• Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, moving items up to 100 lbs.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Installing, monitoring, commissioning, testing and maintaining of equipment associated with providing telecommunications services in both technical facilities and customer property.
• Assembling, installing, testing and maintaining transmission equipment.
• Maintaining new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
• Coordinating the testing and turn-up of services with all involved providers.
• Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing services requests, work orders, and circuit diagrams.
• Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, distinguishing audio tones, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

The weekly wage range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $1,266.50 - $1,809.00.
