Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment, ensuring compliance with standards.
  2. Manages assigned equipment and schedules service.
  3. Conducts pre-acceptance inspections and develops preventive maintenance procedures, maintaining relevant documentation.
  4. Ensures test equipment calibration and functionality.
  5. Responds promptly to clinical department calls for equipment evaluation and repair.
  6. Researches and orders repair parts within budget constraints.
  7. Maintains purchase order logs and validates invoices for field service activities.
  8. Provides informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
  9. Recommends service strategies to the Department Manager and reports on activities and issues.
  10. Participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  11. Maintains an organized and functional work environment.
  12. Provides emergency on-call services as required.
  13. Documents asset-related actions in accordance with department practices.
  14. Participates in department meetings and collaborates with technical staff on updates and device issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in electronics/biomedical technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver’s license for positions requiring travel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, customer service, organization, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications for service tracking and reporting.
  • Willingness to serve on-call duty as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and team collaboration skills.
