Job Summary & Responsibilities:
  1. Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment per standards.
  2. Manage assigned equipment and schedule service.
  3. Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures; maintain related files.
  4. Ensure test equipment calibration and functionality.
  5. Respond promptly to clinical department calls for evaluation and repairs.
  6. Research and order repair parts within budget.
  7. Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices.
  8. Provide informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
  9. Recommend service strategies and keep supervisors informed.
  10. Participate in Quality Improvement / Risk Management initiatives.
  11. Maintain an organized work environment.
  12. Provide emergency on-call coverage as required.
  13. Document asset-related actions in compliance with department practices.
  14. Participate in department meetings and collaborate with technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in electronics/biomedical technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in hospitals.
  • Valid driver’s license for travel positions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, customer service, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and reporting.
  • Willingness to serve on-call duties.
