About the role

As a Bench Repair Technician, you will play a key role in driving operational continuity across all regional routes. You’ll work closely with field staff and management to ensure high-level technical integrity and long-term equipment performance.

What you’ll do
Core responsibilities
  • Evaluate component viability: Troubleshoot and test key electrical and mechanical subassemblies—such as printers, bill validators, logic boards, power supplies, and monitors to accurately determine whether parts can be cost-effectively repaired or require total replacement.
  • Recondition & calibrate hardware: Clean, repair, and calibrate circuit boards and mechanical components using an array of precision hand instruments, soldering equipment, and fabrication tools to maintain a reliable stock of field-ready units.
  • Prepare & program integrated circuits: Wipe, flash, and reprogram system software, operational logic, and configuration data across board-level components—including EPROMs, BIOS chips, microcontrollers, and solid-state drives to eliminate software errors and ensure strict compliance with state gaming and all other standards.
  • Monitor & maintain asset logs: Record serialized part updates, repair histories, diagnostic findings, and software versions to maintain complete asset traceability, enforce quality control, and satisfy regulatory reporting standards.
Collaborations and partnerships
  • Deliver technical field support: Assist field technicians with live troubleshooting, software guidance, and emergency unit preparation to resolve location service calls quickly and maintain machine uptime.
  • Coordinate hardware logistics & distribution: Work alongside route teams, management, and shipping personnel to identify high-urgency part needs, streamline repair turnarounds, and initiate software updates across customer locations.
Other responsibilities
  • Assemble & stage equipment: Perform minor assembly, wiring, and diagnostic testing on hardware packages on an as-needed basis to ensure operational readiness prior to field shipment.
  • Uphold workplace safety & environmental standards: Strictly adhere to shop safety protocols, utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure the proper disposal of hazardous component waste and electronics in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Who you are
  • Proficient in root-cause diagnostics: Skilled in using structured troubleshooting, technical reasoning, and sound judgment to isolate complex mechanical and electrical faults and identify their underlying causes.
  • Fluent in schematics interpretation: Ability to read and apply electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals to evaluate hardware, trace circuits, diagnose faults, and guide repair activities.
  • Adept in board-level repair: Possesses the fine-motor skills, precision, and technical knowledge required to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components and circuitry.
  • Familiar with embedded system configuration: Understands the basic functions of common integrated circuits and embedded system components, including how different components influence system operation and configuration.
  • Detail-oriented & accountable: Maintains a high personal standard for precision, thoroughness, and work quality while taking direct ownership of final work product.
  • Flexible & results-driven: Adaptable, collaborative, and committed to delivering quality results.
  • Collaborative & people-focused: Inclusive and team-oriented mindset.
