Job summary

Four Winds Casino and Resort in South Bend, IN, seeks a dedicated Slot Technician to handle the repair and maintenance of all slot machines and electronic gaming devices. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs all types of slot machines and associated equipment to the component level.
  • Assists in connecting wires used for data and progressive systems as well as programming the super controller to display the correct amounts.
  • Maintains a working library of all technical manuals and customer notices issued by the vendors to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains a working stock of spare parts to minimize equipment down time due to equipment failure.
  • Repairs, overhauls, and maintains proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines to ensure optimal operation.
  • Handles floor maintenance and repair, and all high limit and third time machine fills.
  • Handles the initial set-up and check-out of new slot machines.
  • Supervises the breakdown, relocation, and re-setup of machines and stands to be relocated.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all processes, testing, software, and hardware setups of various equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, and sign/engraving machines.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.

Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all slot machines and electronic gaming devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following,

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma preferred and one-year slot technician experience. Electronics degree preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to leverage technical expertise to fully understand and meet the finance department’s technical and reporting needs and requirements. Ability to develop and maintain a strong relationship with casino technical staff. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to specify and develop queries/reports using a range of software. Ability to think logically and follow detailed instructions.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally 100 lbs., also will be required to regularly push, pull, and maneuver gaming devices, up to 100 pounds, for the purpose of installation, repair or maintenance. The employee may occasionally be required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.
