Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Lead Technician, Avionics/Lead Technician to join the Hartford Service Center on the Evening shift. You will troubleshoot, repair and service aircraft avionics and related systems, while guiding junior staff and maintaining safe, compliant operations.

Qualified candidates typically have extensive avionics experience, corporate jet exposure, and Bombardier model familiarity. The role supports maintenance across on-site and off-site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years avionics work experience.
• At least 2 years of corporate / commercial jet experience.
• At least 1 year of Bombardier aircraft model experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions).
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment.
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations.
• May assist with maintenance at off-site locations.
• Assist other maintenance disciplines.
• May assist in creation of service orders with SAP or applicable operating systems.
• May assist in complete engine and / or APU runs.
• Return A/C to service after maintenance at off-site locations (if certified).
• Perform complex repairs on aircraft systems.
• Provide time estimates.
• Train, coach and support other employees.

What are your contributions to the team?

The Lead Technician, Avionics and Electronics troubleshoots repairs, inspects, modifies and services aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment. Performs and documents all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

How to thrive in this role?

• You typically have a minimum of 8 years avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience
• You typically have a minimum of 2 years of corporate / commercial jet experience
• You typically have a minimum of 1 year of Bombardier aircraft model experience
• You typically have A Certification, P Certification, A & P Certificate or Repairman Certificate
• You have demonstrated leadership ability
• You have demonstrated planning / organization skills
• You are familiar with all systems installations of Bombardier aircraft model
• You have the ability to perform role of Temporary Crew Chief as needed - preferred
