Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Hartford Service Center is seeking an Avionics and Electronics Technician to maintain and repair aircraft avionics and electrical/electronic equipment. You will work with a team under factory and hangar conditions, troubleshoot to manuals and safety policies, and may operate ground support equipment.

A technical school in avionics and at least 2 years of hands-on avionics experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Avionics / electric aircraft maintenance background.
• Able to read electrical engineering drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work overtime and in variable weather.
• Must be able to obtain required Ground Support Equipment qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general work requirements (factory/shop/hangar).
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service avionics and electrical systems.
• Operate ground support equipment as needed.
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hangar positions)
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures. Participate in 5-S activities. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics, electrical and electronic equipment
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• May assist with maintenance at off-site locations
• Assist other maintenance disciplines

How to thrive in this role?

• Avionics / electric A/C Technical School or other substantiated equivalent
• Typically 2+ years' avionics work experience or substantiated equivalent experience
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings
• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools
• Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required
• Must be able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays
• Must be able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
• Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (if applicable)
• A Certification if required by customer (Commercial Aircraft)
• GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certificate
• Basic PC skills
