Basic Job Functions:
- This is an entry-level Automation Technician controls position supporting manufacturing operations, equipment implementation/startup, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshooting/optimization of manufacturing process control systems. The successful candidate will be assigned to either AM or PM shifts, working on a rotating 36/48-hour schedule, including every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The shifts are:
- AM shift: 6:00 AM - 6:10 PM
- PM shift: 6:00 PM - 6:10 AM
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with manufacturing equipment, electrical/electronic controls.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering preferred.
- No degree? 5+ years of verifiable experience in related fields (e.g., Semiconductors, Automotive).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in interpreting data and troubleshooting processes.
- Knowledge of reading electrical/mechanical drawings and suggesting modifications.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Competent in Autodesk AutoCAD for creating electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Knowledge of programming/troubleshooting Rockwell Automation Logix PLCs and HMIs, including FactoryTalk View ME; Proface HMI experience is a plus.
- Understanding of control networks like ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet.
- Basic knowledge of robotic systems, including troubleshooting, programming, and safety.
- Proficiency with computer hardware, Microsoft Office, and understanding of Ethernet architectures.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic understanding of SQL databases and OPC protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing facilities, including remote support for global sites.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems for equipment.
- Assist with new equipment installation, startup, and MES integration.
- Maintain and update electrical drawings, documenting equipment changes.
- Implement software updates as specified by Controls Engineering.
- Identify and resolve control system issues, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with various departments and ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met.
- Understand client requirements, collect data, analyze, and propose solutions.
- Stay informed about new technologies and contribute to organizational goals.
- Participate in safety assurance activities, hazard analysis, and sustainability evaluations.
- Configure, test, and maintain software and hardware systems, including network troubleshooting.
- Respond to support requests, document actions, and escalate issues as needed.
- Other duties as assigned and subject to change.
Reporting Relationships:
- This position will not have direct reports.

Estimated Salary Range:
- $26.30 - $37.50 per hour.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 58 pounds, and perform physical activities as described.
- Visual acuity of 20/40, ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to wear PPE and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
