Job description

Summary:

This position is responsible for trouble shooting/maintaining all automation equipment. This position reports directly to the Value stream manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Set up all automation for specific jobs as required. This requires changing out all tooling and recalibrating equipment
  • Understanding and experience with programming for PLCs, ladder logic programs and troubleshooting
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs, repairs and troubleshooting for automation equipment
  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs
  • Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers, Team Lead, supervisors and management
  • Maintain all 5S standards throughout the department on a daily basis
  • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
  • Assure the safe working environment for self and coworkers
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • A thorough understanding of the hazard communication program
  • Must be able to identify and report malfunctions of the equipment
  • Computer and electronics skills; ability to with hand tools and various instruments
  • ABroad-based knowledge in order to successfully troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve problems that relate to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc
  • An good understanding of fanuc systems or equivalent systems
  • Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read, understand blueprints and apply understanding to the task
  • Must have understanding and be able identify the different material used in the department
  • Must be capable of selecting the proper tools and gauges required for the products produced
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, desired
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
  • Typical Office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. in a safe manner
  • Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time
  • Exposure to chips and dust (eye protection required)
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts
  • Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed
