Job summary

Triumph in Yakima, WA is seeking an Assembly Test Technician 2 / Repair & Overhaul Department to join a team delivering high‑quality hydraulic actuators, valves, and manifolds. This role supports mechanical assembly and functional testing across multiple machines, with periodic overtime and shift rotations between 1st and 3rd shifts.

The position offers a 3rd shift premium of 15% and a competitive hourly pay range, reflecting experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Safety oriented and willing to participate in continuous improvement.
  • General mechanical knowledge/background.
  • Preferred knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formula.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and perform finish operations on products according to blueprints with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct functional tests to maximize quality and productivity across multiple machines.
  • Determine sequence of assembly with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control.
  • Identify test applications suitable for automation and improvement.
  • Perform failure analysis with Design Engineering and QC to determine root causes.
  • Maintain records of work, test setups, and procedures.
  • Work with hazardous chemicals and occasional heavy lifting.
  • Set up and conduct tests to evaluate design characteristics.

Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation Actuation and Landing Gear System designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees.Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

Responsibilities

Assembly Test Technician 2 / Repair & Overhaul Deartment

This position is subject to annual shift rotations between 1st and 3rd shifts.

3rd Shift Premium: 15% of your base salary added to regularly determined earnings for all work performed.

Availability to work overtime which may include occasional weekends.

Essential Functions
  • Perform all mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and finish operations on product line per blueprints and planning with little to no supervision.
  • Perform functional tests in such a manner to maximize quality and productivity while simultaneously working on multiple machines.
  • Determine the sequence of assembly operations in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control to optimize the process and achieve maximum productivity and quality.
  • Identify functional test applications suitable for computer automation and other opportunities for methods improvement.
  • Determine cause and corrective action through failure analysis in conjunction with Design Engineering and Quality Control.
  • Maintain orderly and retrievable records of work performed and complete records of test setups, shop books, photos, and procedures.
  • Work with hazardous chemicals such as: Acetone, Alcohol, HFE-72DE, paints, sealants, bonding solvents paint stripper, solvents, and paint thinners. May involve prolonged exposure to caustic oils such as Aerospace Hydraulic Fluid. Some heavy lifting required.
  • Setup and conduct tests and experiments on components and complete units to evaluate design characteristics and performance of test items.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience required.
  • Safety oriented and willing to participate in continuous improvement team discussions.
  • General mechanical knowledge/background.
  • Preferred knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formula.
Skills & Competencies
  • Safe use of hand/power tools.
  • Knowledge /background of precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to follow instruction. (Oral and/or written).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic diagrams is a plus.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Must be able to problem solve during test evaluations.
  • Willing to work in team environment and participate in team process improvement discussions/projects.

Position Pay Range: $21.75 - $30.71 Per Hour. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
