Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a hands-on technician to assemble, test, and troubleshoot cryogenic valve systems and related components. You will support design feedback, work instructions, and safe operations in a fast-paced environment.

Relocation provided; travel up to 5% and a M-TH 5am–3:30pm shift may apply. Candidates should have 2+ years in aerospace/defense and be able to lift 40 lbs with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and use lifting equipment; climb ladders and stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, test, verify, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves and systems.
  • Perform intermediate or depot level maintenance, inspection, and repair.
  • Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, tooling, and test hardware; provide feedback for improvements.
  • Follow and improve work instructions for complex mechanical systems and installations.
  • Safely work with chemical and high-pressure hazardous systems.
  • Ensure tasks are on schedule and performed safely and professionally.
  • Adapt to changing roles in a fast-paced environment; support overtime for integration tasks or test campaigns.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for valve-related systems.

Job Description Summary

Provides tactical and technical support with focus on assembly of components and integrated systems. May perform activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of sub components and systems.

Relocation provided. Travel expected up to 5% of the time. Shift available: A shift: M-TH (5am - 3:30pm)

Responsibilities
  • Integrate, test, functionally verify, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatically actuated cryogenic valves, systems and components.
  • Perform intermediate and/or depot level component maintenance, inspection, and repair.
  • Assist engineers in reviewing and developing design concepts, tooling, test hardware and providing feedback for improvements.
  • Follow, review, improve and provide feedback on work instructions for complex mechanical systems and installations.
  • Safely work with chemical and/or high-pressure hazardous systems.
  • Ensure tasks are performed on schedule, safely and in a professional manner.
  • Rapidly adapt to changing roles while working in a challenging high-paced work environment.
  • Show Innovation and accountability in the of improvement of processes and the efficiency of operations and the work area.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test, and maintenance of valve related systems.
  • Support overtime required for integration tasks or test campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D or related industrial or defense fields. Strong attention to detail, desire to solve problems, and drive to resolve technical issues. Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware. Must possess a strong work ethic, prove ability to follow direction, and meet expectations. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals. Physically able to climb ladders and stairs. Ability to support one of the following production work schedule: M- TH (5am - 3:30pm) Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems, databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cryogenic systems, operation, safety and hardware. Prior experience fabricating, maintaining, testing, operating or inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluids systems. Experience with CAD systems for review and interpretation of 3-D models. Experience with precision assembly in a clean room environment.
Base Pay Range

for: WA applicants is $24.74 - $34.63 Other site ranges may differ
